Disney Cruise Line App

The Disney Cruise Line app is a must-have item when you are on a Disney Cruise. You will be able to use it on your cell phone or on your tablet for free while on board. The WiFi for the use of this app is free. The app has all sorts of options, including the Navigator, which lists all the activities available to do. So that means the special activities for the children and youth programs, family activities, adult only activities, the dinner menus, when all the venues are open, when and what movies are showing in the movie theater, what shows will be in the main theater, etc. There are also maps of each deck so you can find where you need to go.

Another great feature is the “chat” module included. This will allow you to chat with everyone who is with you.

What happens if you meet new friends? Well, you can add them, too, so you can get in touch with them.

If you are at Castaway Cay, it works there, too!

So, if your husband is lost (LOL), you can send him a message telling him where he needs to go. Since he has the app, he’ll be able to look at his map, too.

You are able to select items of interest to you (highlight the “heart”) so you can choose the view where you can look at only those things you chose to do. Since there are so many things to do, it can get confusing if you are always looking at everything.

There is also the option to give you a little “alarm” reminder so you are sure to get to what you want to do.

One special use of this app is the countdown to your next cruise. Now if you’ve got 500 days, it may not be very exciting, but the closer you get the more exciting it is! So, enter in the date your next cruise is leaving and you’ll be able to check out the countdown.

Tips for using the app:

  1. Download the app before you get on board the ship. Even better, download it to use the countdown.
  2. Be sure to turn on “Airplane Mode” before you leave port. I’ve found that doing it as I am signing into the app will make sure I don’t forget to do that.
  3. Right now Disney has a free first day internet package. Be sure to sign up for it in case you want to send a picture of you on the ship on the first day of your cruise. While it only lasts for that first day, you can decide later if you want to purchase a package.

The Disney Magic

We were so excited to get back on a cruise ship again, which we did the end of January 2023, and we were especially excited since it was our first time on the Disney Magic! We headed to the Port of Galveston to hop aboard this four night cruise to Progresso, Mexico....

The Best Cruise Line

We are often asked which is the best cruise line. Well, it all depends on you. Ok, so you think that's a non-answer. But think about it, not everyone enjoys the same things you do. Some people like tons of active activities like swimming, water slides, basketball,...

Book a Cruise Now? or Wait?

Let me first explain that while I am a Travel Advisor, and I get paid commission for helping you book your cruise (or hotel, or resort stay, or well...), I want you to have the information you need to decide what vacation will be best for you. I don't want you to come...

COVID-19 “Vaccines” and Travel

If you are "vaccinated" or not, there are rules for travel, especially foreign travel. Some countries require a "vaccination" (sometimes with a negative test, sometimes no test is necessary), sometimes they only require a negative test or proof of recovery in a...

Waiting on Passports

If you are in need of renewing your passport, or getting your first, consider doing it soon. Current wait times for a passport that is not expedited, is anywhere from 12 to 18 weeks. Many countries require your passport to be in effect for at least 3-6 months after...

To Cruise or Not to Cruise, That Is the Question

It seems that just when you think you know the rules, everything changes again. If you are like me, you want to get on a cruise ship. I prefer to not cruise in the summer, so I'm not planning to cruise anytime real soon. However, I sometimes wonder when I should...

In Memory of Gavin MacLeod

This is the video posted in memory of Gavin MacLeod, aka Captain Merrill Stubing on "The Love Boat." He was a real ambassador for cruising. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfDrn-PQkk4

Travel Scams: Beware

It is unfortunate that there are a few people who will take advantage of others by scamming them. But, it happens. With the pent up demand for travel, scammers are setting up fake web sites to get you to purchase airline tickets and other travel items. These sites...
