The cruise industry has a pretty big impact on the global economy, to the tune of $150 billion. It also supports 1.17 million jobs (directly, not including the ports visited), meaning $50 billion in wages.

With cruises (and travel in general) eliminated or greatly reduced, the economic impact is BIG. Not only for the cruise industry, but for the embarkation/debarkation points and the ports of call.

The cruise industry greatly benefits the economy.
