The Largest Cruise Ships

Wayne and I were able to cruise on one of the largest cruise ships in the world last week! We were attending a conference on the ship, so it was work. I know, I know, it’s hard to feel sorry for someone who is “working” while cruising. I don’t blame you.

We were on Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas which is an Oasis class ship (the largest in the world – for now). It is a massive ship to say the least. You don’t realize how big it really is when you go to the different areas, because they did a great job of making it look a bit cozier than it really is. However, when you have to walk from the fore part of the ship to the aft part of the ship, you realize how big it really is.

Our first port stop was in St. Kitts. Our ship was longer than the pier! I didn’t even realize there was another ship in port until we got off, because our stateroom was well back from that other ship.

Looking at the ships from the front, you don’t realize how much bigger one is than the other. Yes, I could see the Allure of the Seas was taller, but that’s about it. When we were coming back to port from our excursion, that’s when we realized how much bigger our ship was than the Carnival Fascination! While the Fascination is an older ship, it is still looks big by itself.

There were over 6,000 passengers on our ship the week we were on it. I really was surprised that it didn’t feel crowded.

The Disney Magic

We were so excited to get back on a cruise ship again, which we did the end of January 2023, and we were especially excited since it was our first time on the Disney Magic! We headed to the Port of Galveston to hop aboard this four night cruise to Progresso, Mexico....

The Best Cruise Line

COVID-19 “Vaccines” and Travel

Waiting on Passports

To Cruise or Not to Cruise, That Is the Question

It seems that just when you think you know the rules, everything changes again. If you are like me, you want to get on a cruise ship. I prefer to not cruise in the summer, so I'm not planning to cruise anytime real soon. However, I sometimes wonder when I should...

This is the video posted in memory of Gavin MacLeod, aka Captain Merrill Stubing on "The Love Boat." He was a real ambassador for cruising. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfDrn-PQkk4

Travel Scams: Beware

It is unfortunate that there are a few people who will take advantage of others by scamming them. But, it happens. With the pent up demand for travel, scammers are setting up fake web sites to get you to purchase airline tickets and other travel items. These sites...
