Ok, a vacation is all about fun and adventures, right? Well, not necessarily. I don’t want to go on a vacation and not have some time to relax.
That’s why I like to take a book with me (or Kindle). If I have to stand in a long line (sometimes you have to do this to get on a cruise ship), or sit and wait (like in an airport), or wait for your spouse (or others with whom you are travelling), it’s a perfect time to take out that book and read.
I also like to sit out on a balcony (either on a cruise ship or at a resort), or even by the pool, to just take some time to relax. People watching is ok, but I like to take out a book, too.
Choosing the right book is important. Be sure, though, to take a book that will keep your interest. I prefer non-fiction, but if it’s good (close to real life), a fiction book can be good, too.
Don’t worry if you never even open it, or if you don’t finish it. You have it just in case you need it.
So, next time you’re thinking of not taking a book with you on vacation, maybe you want to think again.
